Social Media Class for senior citizens
This year, the Youth and Sports committee had their first program in teaching senior citizens about Social Media. The classes were divided into three sessions (12nd, 19th and 26th May 2018) on Saturdays. Each session lasted from 10.00am to 12.00pm.

The classes were facilitated by Mass Communication students from KDU Penang University College in the YMCA Love room. Unexpectedly, the response was good. We had about 30 senior citizens who signed up for the class.

The topics that were covered in the Social Media class was “How to use G-Mail”. “Surfing the internet”, “How to use instant messaging, social networking and accessing YouTube and phone-cameras”.

The participant was delighted with the classes because they had the opportunity to learn the internet using their own I-pads and hand phones. Some of them express the hope to have more courses like this in the future. Their feedback encouraged us to hold more IT-savvy programs.
