Group 3
Photography Workshop
For our social entreprenuership project, we needed to identify a problem and work towards solving it. The problem we found was that disabled people lack certain skills that would allow them to generate additional income for themselves. When we approached Cheshire Home, we identified that the one way they generate income is by making and selling handicraft. We decided to equip them with photography skills so that they will be able to take pictures and have an extra avenue to make some money. For this we had to conduct a basic tutorial workshops to teach 10 disabled people how to take pictures. On top of that, we wanted to raise funds to buy wheelchairs as well as materials for their handicraft program. To help us raise these funds, we decided to sell 500-600 local delicacies. At the end of it all, we managed to raise RM 1959. On the 14th of December, 2017, we carried out a program at Cheshire Home where we handed over three wheelchairs, handicraft (cross-stitch) materials and taught 10 disabled residents on the basics of photography.
