Planting the Green
There is lesser and lesser green we can see around the cities we are living in today. Urban citizens usually live a busy life that they are so busy with the daily task and it is rare that they go nears to the green. Our group project is to bring these green close to the urban citizens where they can see and touch the green within their busy lives.
The project was to do the sales with green-related and the profit of the sales will goes back to the community where it needed. Our group was bringing the decoration plant which is cactus for sale due to the survivability of the cactus is high and it needs very minimum time to take care of.
PREPARATION
Our group is getting the cactus ready to sell by decoration it according to the random themes.
Sales Day Start
We set up a booth at KDU Penang University College foyer to do our sales, other than selling the cactus, we also sell salad and drinks with cactus shape mug.
Give Back to the Community
By the end of 10th December 2017, we successfully made the targeted profit and on14th December 2017, we gather all of our profit to buy the necessity for the Cheshire Home in Penang. Other than giving them the wheelchairs, we also have some green planting activities with them. We teach them how to plant in their own pot whereby they will take care of the plant themselves after that. We were targeted 10 people will joining us for the activities but at the end, there are another 5 residents joining us for the planting potted plant. Luckily we manage to get extra pots and we successfully planted 15 plants and we put the plant in the garden for the residents to take care of their own plant afterward.
Other than the farming activities, we also having fun like singing Christmas song and doing simple aerobic with them. The whole visit was a success and we all glad that both of us are getting well together.
